ABOUT THE TOUR

Hip Hop Caucus and our local and national partners are organizing a six-state tour,
visiting six cities and six college campuses, so that our communities can make clear
to our elected leaders in Washington, D.C. that we need them to act on the issue of
climate change.

We have students, we have celebrities, recording artists, and cultural influencers,
we have academics and experts, and we have activists and community leaders, all
working together to demonstrate that communities of color across this country
want common sense climate solutions.

Our communities are already being harmed. For decades in this country, our
communities have been the dumping grounds for pollution, while generally more
affluent communities have ensured that toxic pollution doesn’t come near their
neighborhoods. Now, with the indisputable scientific evidence that this same
pollution is causing climate change, we have the most at stake when it comes to
action. We are organizing this tour because we want clean and healthy communities
too. And, we are organizing this tour because we want a sustainable planet for our
kids, grandkids, and future generations.
